I don't care if they are. I'd be mad though if one of them stole a recipe I created and then turned around and made a lot of money from it.

Even if they were recording every single phone call what would the size of the staff have to be to be able to listen to each phone call?
Is there software that pulls out conversations where a "trigger" word is mention? Possibly. But make a list of what you think would be on that "trigger" list and think about how often these words are actually uttered. I have a radio show and in show preparation with my staff we say many of those words often. That is just 4 people. Add to that the number of people who say those words (on your list) as a joke or while talking about the last episode of '24' or the latest Vince Flynn novel.
When you think about this in a practical manner I would guess that the CIA is recording many people's calls if one of the parties to the call are linked already to terrorists. Even with that...I'm guessing that is a huge number of calls and phone minutes to even listen through.

Who exactly is "our" referring to? If you are a terrorist, then yes; if you are ordering pizza, then no. Would you have a problem if the CIA was listening to you order pizza?
Terrorists do things TO America;
the CIA and NSA do things FOR America.
The recent foiled plot in Canada shows what can happen when intelligence agencies are able to do their job without interference from the ACLU and the like. Let them do their job, and I will continue to use my phone with no fear, because I am not a terrorist. If you're uncomfortable, it's because you're doing something you know is wrong.

No, they're not. Unless you call known or suspected foreign terrorists all the time or receive calls from them. Then, they probably are. (Actually, it's the NSA, but you seem pretty loose about facts, so I'll let it go.)
As for what the CIA is doing, they are leaking classified information to the press to harm the President and undermine our war efforts. This is correctly called treason, and the criminal traitors should be punished severely.

Are you a terrorist? If not, what are you worried about? I feel sorry for the poor bastard tasked with listening to MY phone calls.
