Hi. I am a make up artist and here are some steps to help you. I am of african american decent brown skin, but all have the same problem.
Here you go:
Blush has long been considered a beauty must. With just a few brush strokes, you can lift a flat or pale complexion to a pretty glow.
Steps:
1. Consider blush colors that match the color of your cheeks after an aerobic workout. Such shades mimic your natural coloring and help you avoid having cheeks that look painted or artificial.
2. Head to a department store and have a makeup artist assist you in finding a complementary shade. Check your options in natural lighting whenever possible.
3. Remember, the darker your skin tone, the darker your blush should be. Women with fair complexions usually look best in pink or coral shades, while darker complexions are enhanced by wine or burgundy hues.
4. Keep daytime blush light in tone. Opt for a heavier application to create a more dramatic evening look.
5. Match the undertones in your lipstick to the color of your blush. If your lips are red, opt for a pink or reddish cheek color. For pink or rose-colored lips, opt for similar hues in your blush color.
Tips:
Avoid choosing a color just because you think it looks pretty in the case. To enhance your beauty, it must complement your coloring.
Hope that helps.

I WOULD SUGGEST bronze colors because these can usually flow with any skin tone. This would help add glow and beauty. But I agree with you I am fair skinned tone and i will definetly pass on the pinks, I have a brozer powder that i use and i usually get a lil flush in the cheeks so i don't wear blush. maybe you don't need to either.

pink works on everyone you just have to find the right shade. blush is really ment to contour your face and make you cheek bones stand out. if you use a darked shade of brown foundation slightly under your cheeck going toward the mouth you will get nice effect. then you can put your powder over that and then blush on the apple of the cheek. you shouldn't be able to notice the color if you can it is too much.

Try a blush that is red (seriously, don't be afraid of the shade) then put it on VERY lightly. That will give you a gorgeous natural pink. Then the is apricot/peach and also "a brown with a hint of rose" color.

Try Avon's Sunny Mosiac Bronzer blush. It works so well on dark skin. It gives you a natural glow. My sister is naturally dark complected and she uses it and it always looks so pretty on her.

Match your blush to your lipstick color. You can actually use the lipstick as a good long lasting effective blush. just dab a little bit where you want the 'blush' to be and rub it in evenly.
