You are at the beach with some family members; the sun is warm and the water is cold. Going into the water would temporarily chill you but you know later the warm sun would be even more enjoyable & you would be glad you had gone in.

oh yes i would!!
there are three steps to 'the plunge'. if you run in and immerse your self right away, it takes away the fun of the process... but you won't chicken out!
the first step is putting your feet in. once you've made up your mind to do it, it's quite easy. toes have some insulation. the second comes for me when i get up to my thighs in water... do i go a bit deeper? will i need these for a few hours?! brrr.... iced apple pie. the third and final step is full immersion, head to toe. by now i'm in 5 to 6 feet of chilly water, so this part is again actually quite easy. get the hair wet, the water in the eyes... what could be better? then, back to the sun and the sand. repeat as necessary!
ps::: large waves or someone jumping on you or splashing you are considered 'cheating'!

Certainly, especially in the Caribbean. The Atlantic and Pacific are usually cold. The gulf of Mexico is a bit warmer. Love the ocean, love scuba diving!!!

Yep, I do it all the time...Besides the fact that the ocean is fairly icy here in Northern California, the landlord refuses to heat the pool. So, usually it's just for a dip to cool off, and then I get back in the sun for a while.

But if youare worried about the "chill" effects on your curbs.. you might want to get a towel and cover yourself after you get out
