A lot of Red states seem to be dissing the Dixie Chicks...

Your always welcome in the Great State of California, because we share your views.

Thank God Bush hasn't revoked the 1st Amendement(although he did chastise a Chinese woman who balked at the President of China, and had her arrested)

Should we revoke the 1st Amendment, so we all get in line for the Prez?

Excuse me....President Bush did not chastise the Chinese woman who "balked" at the President of China, nor did he have her arrested. As for the Dixie Chicks, no one has infringed on their freedom of speech, they spoke out the about the president and the war (or whatever) and apparently you listened right? You sound as if you want a law to force all of us to listen...that's not freedom of speech. You might be guaranteed freedom of speech by the constitution but you are not guaranteed an audience!!!! Grow up

Ya'll on the coasts seem to Forget that there is FLY OVER COUNTRY that their attirudes don't mix with yours.
Many of us BOYCOTT movie theaters because of the Trash produced in Hollywood. Your favorite politicians and celebs consider folks who have a different view as ignorant and then expect support when national elections are held. The Dixie Chicks have managed to alienate NASCAR Moms and Dads. Their Base. George had nothing to do with that, The Dixie Chicks alone sucked Toe Jam.Are you mad that folks vote with their dollars?
Sounds like your attitude is Free speech for me but not for Thee.

I don't think that they SHOULD have anything to worry about, but with the threats they got, I know they HAVE been.

I don't know when it started that somehow complaining about our president, here or abroad, became somehow unpatriotic but that misconception needs to stop.

However, any celebrity knows that they voice their opinions with the risk of turning off potential fans. So those who have boycotted their stuff have as much right to do so as they did to make the statement in the first place.

I am pretty sure, no matter how conservative the supreme court gets, it will NEVER rule the voicing of your criticism against the president anywhere is improper (unless you are in the military).
