probably the Australian Aborigines - who have been proven to have existed as nomadic but still linked people for over 50,000 years before the White Man came to the country.

I would have to go with China. They have been invaded and exchanged idea, but have never been fragmented and any change has been of their choice.

Another might be the Indians of the far east. They have been invaded, but not interbred with and cultural ideas between the invaders and the natives was prettymich kept to a minimum.

And many natives--Lapps in Lappland, the far western Native Americans and Inuits, the Mogols . . . there are some very old cultures still around.

Even the Assyrians, one of the first major civilizations, keeps its ethnic heritage despide genocide and forced removal.
