First, why is it that some black people keep voting for Democrats? I mean jeez are they that stupid. I am black and I for one came to realize the Democrats pathetic excuses. They keep talking about how they are going to do so much for black people, but, they never do. The democrats keep saying they are for the poor, and usually that is refering to blacks. Not all black people are poor. I know I'm not. Republicans at least have an agenda that they follow along, whereas the Democrats can't agree on anything. You hear about the incident in California? The two democrat runoff candidates are going aganist each other instead of Gov. Arnold. Now that is what I call ridiculous. Imagine what the US would have been like if Gore had been elected. Instead of going to war aganist Terrorism, we would be trying to negotiate with them. And everybody knows you don't negotiate with terrorist b/c they will keep demading when they see they can get their way. It amazes me to see people vote Democrat.

I agree with you 100%. Dems talk about blacks like they are stupid and NEED all those money wasting social programs. Republicans on the other hand encourage people of all colors to better themselves and not depend on the government to take care of them.
I can't wait to see the hateful, childish name calling that this question is going to get from the "peaceful", "tolerant" Liberals.

Isn't it wonderful when the "light" comes on?

My family are ALL Democrat, (except me) because that's the way we were raised. BUT, when asked about their feelings regarding abortion, death penalty to murderers, small government's intrusion in our lives, the meaning of marriage should only be between a man and a woman, tax cuts, defending our country against terrorists, no gun control, against gay rights, against gimme programs (they all believe a person should work for what they receive and not expect hand-outs from the government.) etc. In each instance, they all agree with a Republican response, including most...if not all other issues. My sweet family are Republicans that vote Democrat....

Many people do this... they do not take the time to study the differences in the Parties. They continue to vote the way their parents and grandparents voted. I suppose it the easy way... I'm not really sure!

Listening to Nominee Ronald Reagan, opened my eyes to what being a Republican stood for. I voted for him, and have voted as a Republican every since. The shame that Mr. Clinton brought to the office of President was appaling...not only his affair, but turning his back on our dead soldiers that were killed aboard the SS Cole... and these are only two reasons among many.

I was so glad that I had seen the "light" and in no way was I responsible for Bill Clinton being elected as our president.

I marvel at the thoughtlessness put in electing a president. Many use the media or read blogs to get their information about a candidate. Then, if the man/woman nominated, promises to do something for them, personally... that person becomes their choice, instead of looking for the person that is best qualified in the defense of America and doing what is right and best for America.

You're right about the terroism! DEFINITELY should not go to war with them! I agree, HOWEVER, I've never been impoverished so I don't know what it's like. I've been lucky to have a house, education, etc... Some people are born into the ghetto, government housing and no money or motivation to educate themselves and well as simply see a doctor. Sad, crappy but true. Because I'm not a selfish person and I believe that the world should work together to better itself, I don't mind paying extra taxes for others to survive and have hope for the future. People really do want to exceed and we should help, HOWEVER, if they're on welfare, they should have a mighty good reason OR there should be an organization that gets work for these individuals.

There is an African American educator and author named Thomas Sowell; most recent book is Black Rednecks & White Liberals; who recently wrote a series of columns that basically say that Democrats are keeping blacks enslaved with welfare and social programs while voting down programs like the school vouchers that Bush had pushed for. His book explores how, in the decades after slavery had been abolished, the black families were better off than they are today but have since been terribly weakened by all the social services and have taken on the 'undesirable' traits of the 'white southern redneck' circa the '20s-40s.

Either you are very young, or very stupid. I would prefer to believe you are pretty young.

Black people do not necessarily vote for democrats. There are a lot of Black republicans. Edward Brooks from Massachussetts was a phenomenal black Senator in a very liberal state in the 70's and 80's. Your sweeping generalizations are failing on that point.

Some black people vote for democrats because they are democrats. Conversely, some black people vote for republicans because they are republican. In this country you can vote for anyone you want to vote for for any reason you want to vote for them. Where do you get off?

Excuse me, but in the past 60 years, black people have done a hell of a lot for black people. It is amazing how much black people have done to improve the lives of black people. I remember when black people couldn't sit with white people at lunch counters in the South. I remember David Richmond, Ezell Blair and the students of North Carolina black colleges, Jesse Jackson among them, who integrated black lunch counters all over North Carolina. It started something. All the lunch counters in the United States got integrated because of what they did. Nobody asked about Democrat or Republican - they just integrated lunch counters because it was the right thing to do.

I am no fan of the Rev. Jesse Jackson. His personal behavior is deplorable, but the black democratic leaders of the early 60's registered black people to vote at a time when black people were getting lynched and their churches burned to the ground if churches and the NAACP registered voters. Like almost all black people during that time, just getting the right to vote was an impossible task.

Republican leadership hasn't done anything for the black community. What has done a great deal for the black community is the fact that the black community has done a lot to advance the black community because in the past 50 years, a middle class has emerged in the black community. This is a first for the black community because until integration, blacks were compelled to virtual poverty.

I am dumbfounded that you have such a basic ignorance of how hard the struggle was. I am even more amazed that you would assume or characterize the black vote as a bloc when it isn't and never has been. You are really selfish to think that black people are so stupid that they vote one way or the other. That is racial profiling.

California isn't the rest of the country. California is far from everywhere else in the world. Go to Georgia, where a bigger percentage of the population is black. Or Mississippi, where the struggle for black freedom and integration started in the early 60's. Go to Alabama, where Rosa Parks integrated the bus system.

What are you talking about? California gives us a Hollywood view of the world that is counterproductive to the advancement of everyone.

Anyone who wants to can run (in any state of the union) for any position he wants to run. It would seem to be the intelligent thing to do not to run against Arnold. Arnold is a flash in the pan who has a lot of money and a lot of wealth behind him. It sounds to me like the runoff candidates have picked their battles carefully.

You need to grow up. You can be anything you want to be and so can everyone else. But man, you are the biggest racist I have ever met online.

It amazes me to see people vote republican. Bush is breaking this country econimically.

The Bush Administration has borrowed 1.05 Trillion Dollars from foreign nations between 2000 - 2006. The Washington through Clinton administration borrowed 1.01 Trillion Dollars between 1789-2000. So this asshole has ramped up as much debt in 5 years and all other administrations have in 211 years.

In addition the "War on Terror" hasn't made us safer. Let me put it to you clearly "IRAQ HAS NEVER BEEN A THREAT TO US" NO WMD's, NO TERRORIST's. You are a moron if you think this war is making us safer.

As far as the black/white issue, who really cares? I know one thing. This country would be better of economically and politically if Al Gore was president today.

Not everyone in the world thinks that ******* over the poor is a good idea. That's why people vote democratic. Basically though this is how a majority of americans vote:

Republicans are fair if your a multimillionair
Democrats are fair if all you own is what you wear.

Just choose the one above thats closer to you and you too can be a mindless voter.

Democrats like Ted Kennedy have been taking african americans for granted for years, now he is the creator of this ridiculous immigration bill that came out of the senate that will hurt the people at the bottom of the work scale which is african americans and hispanic americans. The poor in this country will now have to compete with illegals for whatever scraps the big companies throw their way,but democrats will gain votes for their side because by tradition african americans and hispanics in this country traditionally vote democrat

You stated your biggest fundamental difference in one line by stating "I know I'm not" referring to you not being poor. When you acquire wealth, which you have, the last thing you want to do is give it back. Thus becoming a Republican. Then you hide your pathetic greed behind your so called party affiliation with the moral majority in order to justify your sad existence. Your War on terror is fruitless and going to cost you the next election, Ethics have gone down the drain, and the environment is a punchline to you. Doesn't make you laugh that your president will go down in history as one of the top 10 worst presidents in history?

Back in the 70's the Communist party inflitrated the Democratic party, and started to change their policies. Now what we have today, is a completely Communist run organization within the Democratic party. They have ways of influencing people with attractive methods, that later turn out to actually eliminate our freedoms. At the time, their proposals seem so appealing, that before we realize it, we have lost more freedoms.

You speak about stereotypes when you say "Not all black people are poor." but you are the one using stereotypes when you say things like "Democrats can't agree on anything." You are incredibly ignorant and you are showing your ignorance by this post. Using stereotypes to say that all democrats are 'this way' doesn't prove your point, it makes you look like an idiot. You claim Democrats stereotype, but you are the one making judgement. Your argument is week and unresearched, so you should keep your opinions to yourself if you have no real reasons to back them up. It amazes me how closed-minded and ignorant some Republicans can be.

Idiot.
