there can be different dimensions, the 'yard' dimension is how many cubic yards it holds

we use 30 and 40 yd dumpsters on our job sites. the 30 is the same length as the 40 but the sides r not as high:

30 yd= 6' wide 7' sides 30' long

40yd= 6' wide 4' sides 30 long

well since a yard is 3 feet, i would assume that a 10 yard dumpster is 300 feet by 300 feet of crap and so on.

The physical dimensions are differ between dumpters, but the volume should hold the same amount.
