Because, as I heard it put in a movie or TV show one time, you're about to squeeze something the size of a watermelon out of a hole the size of a lemon. That...would hurt.

K.. first of all do you mean when you are in labor, when when you are pregnant? If you mean labor, that answer is simple. Your uterus contracts to help push the baby down. It helps the cervix dialate and efface (open and thin out) so the baby can fit through the birth canal. That is painful because it is a severe muscle contraction. When the baby is being born, it hurts because you are being stretched to the limit and then some. I always tell people it's like fitting a saint bernard through a poodle doggie door. Or a watermelon through a hole the size of a lemon. So yes, it hurts, but there are drugs to help with pain, so it isn't that bad.

If you mean when you are pregnant, it's because there is a life growing inside of you and it isn't exactly little right before it's born. You get kicked in the lungs, kidneys, ribs, back, bladder. And all your organs are squished up against your lungs so it's hard to breath and hard to eat without getting heartburn. It's hard to sleep because the baby is pushing on you and you can't breath to sleep. I ended up sleeping in the recliner the last month of my pregnancy because I couldn't lay flat. Then there is everything that is happening to your body. Your ligaments stretch at the bottom of your stomach and that can hurt. Then you can have braxton hicks contractions that sometimes hurt, but sometimes not. Before labor really starts, it may feel like the baby is right between your legs and just going to fall out, and that isn't very comfortable at all.

Sorry to sound like everything in pregnancy hurts, because is doesn't, just toward the end gets uncomfortable.

I hope this answers your question

Thats because when God made people, (Adam and Eve)they disobeyed God and God made it so that men have to work hard for a living and females will have major pains when having a baby. Hope this helps!
