Boiling the water won't gaurentee you will remove the lime (maybe if you condensed it off). I would stick to rain water or get yourself a brita filter.

Rain water is the best for plants but not always readily available in all areas due to dry spells. If u can afford to do so,bottled water is a good alternative, but boiling the chemicals from ur tap water is just as good and cheaper. :)

Bottled spring water without added minerals might be better, Even if you boil the lime out of tap water there is still chlorine which can harm a delicate plant also.

Rain water is very slightly acid, due to dissolved carbon dioxide. Tap water (even boiled) is usually alkaline and may also contain things, such as fluorides, added at the water treatment plant.
I suspect that if you added an aspirin tablet to your water, it would be beneficial. Aspirin is a weak acid and is good for cut flowers.

Boiling water does not remove any dissolved minerals in the water. When you consider that boiling promotes some evaporation of the water, you are probably concentrating even more minerals in the water left in the container.

I think rain water straight from the skies would be a much better option than a boiled one

Boiled, cooled water is referred to as Distilled Water. It lacks all minerals, and used too often will leach minerals essential to plant health out of the soil. If you use it, be sure to compensate by fertilizing occasionally.

I don't think so. Boiling eliminates all the minerals necessary for the plants. Try some water from rivers.

I use normal water for my citrus trees in Florida and they growing fine. By boiling the water you are not removing the calcium in the water...you are killing the microbes.
So save your time and money and use normal water.

If your dog could only talk it would tell you that it prefers rainwater-They like muddy puddles after all! The second part of your question-Answer is "no"-but it depends in which country you live. Here in U.K our water from the tap is pure and clean but dogs like it best after it has been allowed to stand for a while to let the chlorine evaporate
