because all of a sudden life undergoes a lot of change. the person has to now think about his or her partner as well and not just for himself or herself. decisions have to be taken together and sometimes some people don't just like that somebody else takes their decisions for them. adjustments have to be made and frankly speaking we all live in our own small world and like to live as we please. after marriage there is someone else also to think about. but from personal experience i can say that it is a beautiful experience. there is someone in your life who cares about you other than your parents and family members. and it is not the end of life. on the contrary two individuals give birth to a new life. i know now a days marriage is not necessary to do that but that is one big marriage gift that you get after a few months of marriage. yes there are ups and downs in the path of a persons married life but two people are there for each other in difficult times and in happy ones. those who are afraid of marriage are those who have not taken the plunge yet. and only those marriages don't work out where there is not enough trust and love between the two partners. being married is a beautiful feeling and everybody should experience it.

well most of the time- people tend to change after marriage- mostly women- they say they don't- but they do- sometimes sex tends to head for the hills- and the partying stops - the same party that drove the two people together- but it is not the end of your life- just a new life to start with

I am so glad you asked this question. I think they feel this because of the negative and horrifying stories that they hear. I for one agree with you it is wonderful and just the start of life. People need to get past the fears and phobias of negative marriages and work on theirs to make it be all it can be!

i don't know! that's a good point though. it is actually a beginning to a whole new life. with your spouse and children! marriage is a beautiful thing! it's just that stupid celebs abuse it by getting married to a different person everyday! oh well taht is their choice and their beliefs. i believe that marriage is a sacred gift from god, and should be treated as such. have a nice day! : )

Normally people who are afraid of it have been married before and had a really bad experience. My bf wont commit because of his past marriage.

because some people change after they are married. They lose respect, courtesy, and privacy for the other person. Sometimes they even turn into jealous monsters or control freaks.

They are afraid of committment, afraid something better may come along. They are stupid! Marriage is winderful. I couldn't imagine life without my husband!
