Not if he can lead the Ravens to the playoffs.

The Titans have bottomed out on their downhill slide. This is reminiscent of what happened to the Niners after the salary cap caught up with them (let's hope they can pull out of the funk more quickly than SF!). They need the room, McNair was their biggest cap liability. Obviously you want to keep a guy like that to mentor your new horse, but apparently not enough to sacrifice other players with more of a future with the franchise. My opinion, it's a good move for both parties, and I wish Steve McNair much success with his new team and the supposed "offensive genius" at the helm.

I think the best one to loose out on this deal is Vince Young. Steve McNair is old and beat up but he has a ton of good advice, tips, techniques and skill to pass on to a new QB. The Titans got a good deal with a fourth round draft choice and they freed up ALOT of cap space by getting rid of McNair and his big contract.

Tennessee is lucky they got anything for him. Baltimore new the Titans were going to have to outright cut McNair eventually due to his salary cap figure. They gave up a pick to get him in a trade just so they could get him into camp early to start learning the offense. They could have waited a month or two until he was cut and picked him up for nothing, but it would have been too late for him to learn the offense and be able to go into the season as the starter at that point.

dude steve is old i still don't know y he's still play i personally think that he didn't do a good job last year for the titans and now he's gone maybe the titans could go 2 the playoffs with vince young. i'm a bears fan i still don't know y i'm saying this the bears should have goten vince young, but they still got rex grossman he's good i wonder if this is a repeat like 2001, i think its 2001 i not sure but there defense took them to the playoffs and lost first game and from there it went down hill. well back to the subject i think it was a good deal ravens got an okay QB and titans got an aswome rokie QB. thats my opinion.

god i never wrote this much in yahoo answers i always wrote like 5 - 10 words

Steve McNair had his years and was good yes they did a good deal but moved to fast with him should have kept him one more year.

No way. Not if all they got was a 4th round pick. Sure Ravens are getting saddled with the contract but come on. They deserved at least a third round pick with it. I mean sure they are getting more then nothing that they would have got if they released him BUT still I think they didn't get enough.

No, my boys got screwed over that one. But it serves them right for the crappy way they treated Steve during his last few days here.

They saved money, got a pick and have Billy Volek ready to go with Vince Young and...they were going to suck anyway.
