In a real situation, I couldn't possibly know that by not saving a family member I could save five other people.

Depends on the age of the family member. I'm sorry . . . but if I had a chance to save five children . . . or one adult family member, I think I would choose the five children.

depends where they are who the family member is and who the strangers are, plus where in the building everyone is situated. but my family member would be my prioritiy (i think).

I would try to save everyone of course but if I had to choose I would have to go with the five strangers b/c sometimes you have to make sacrifices for the greater good. And its better that one person die rather than five

Hmmm...someone has to die? Well, as there are three groups, family, strangers, and myself--I'd save family and strangers and leave the third to her fate...
