yahoo icon is there on my screen but when i click it nothing opens

I would go to the yahoo website and download and reinstall. Sounds like you have a corrupt registry record.

it wont open because its not connected to anything[its just an icon] try accessing it in your documents or desk top to see if its even on your system. you may have to reformat your computer
look in your control panel in add and remove programs to see if its installed on your system . go back to your home page, hit start , then place your pointer on all programs. it will show all programs installed on your system
