There are various "file recovery programs" available online. Some are freeware and some are not. Some have good reviews for retrieving erased files from the hard drive, some do not. Check out CNET.com for their free downloads or just do a general internet search for "file recovery programs". You'll get a bunch of hits. Check out the user reviews to find out what real people have to say. Most recovery programs do a lousy job on audio and video files.

First check your recycle bin. Unless you emptied your recycling, it should still be there.

Otherwise, try some system restore software. If you can't get that to work, you could go to a professional. There are plenty of companies out there who work with data recovery.
