It was the "Six Million Dollar Man" starring hunky Lee Majors.

Farrah Fawcett must have thought the same thing because she married Lee Majors in 1973 and then appeared on the "Six Million Dollar Man a few times in 1974. I guess Mr. Majors wasn't so "hunky" anymore because Farrah began dating Ryan O'Neal in 1980 and divorced Majors in 1982. Oh well...

The following is taken from the IMDb movie data base on the web:

Majors Needs A Bionic Body
6 September 2001 (WENN)
Six Million Dollar Man Lee Majors blames his role as the Bionic Man for ruining his body. The 1970s TV icon is planning a small screen comeback, but claims the hit series left him almost crippled. Majors' character, Colonel Steve Austin was an astronaut test pilot who became badly injured after a crash. The government then used advanced technology to give him a new 'bionic' body, and turned him into a crime fighting agent. And the 62-year-old, who was formerly married to Farah Fawcett, claims the rigorous role has left him in need of a new body himself. He explains, "When I would jump into a scene, I always had to land stiff-legged and couldn't go down on my hands because I was bionic. I had to absorb it all in my knees, and all that sudden impact really killed them. The bionic man has go to go in and be rebuilt." In recent years, Lee has been spotted doing infomercial endorsements for the Bio-Back back support belt.
