both but in different ways

Neither, really. I mean, I love my parents more than anything, but some days I don't like them, and we definitely don't relate well at times. They show no emotion, whereas I am very passionate and emotional about everything. And if it's a personal matter, involving feelings or sex, relationships or family issues, my family just doesn't talk about it.
Both of my parents work hard and have taught my brother and me the same values of hard work and of money and I appreciate that more than they'll ever know.
I am my father's daughter, though. I look so much like him that my great-grandmother used to call me "Jody" when I was little, after my dad, Joe. We have a similar passion for music and we can watch almost any sporting event together. It's mostly his closed-mindedness that I cannot relate to. We're just from different generations.
My mother does not like situations she cannot control (and people), and she's always in my business, even though I live in another state. Some days I don't think she thinks for herself - maybe she can't after 25 years of marriage to such an opinionated man (it's his way or the highway). But I've noticed that she and I are more comfortable talking about personal things than we used to be.
Come to think of it I see myself relating to both of them a lot more now that I'm on the outside of the household looking in.

Two entirely different questions. I am closer to my mother because I have always confided in her and come to her when I needed help. I can relate more to my father though, because I am most like him ( despite my efforts to be anything but ).

Mother... my father is horrible. I barely speak to him! My mom is the best, I love her... she's sooo much fun, and great at everything! She taught me sooo much and she never pushed me while growing up to do or be something I didn't want to. She wasn't all extra strict and I came out great... All A's in high school, Mostly A's in College, graduated and did everything as planned... and didn't have all them extra rules!!! She's the best!

I am closer to my foster father because when I have something to say he sits down and listen to what I have to say. He's the best. He understands me better than my foster mother does.

My father. It's weird, I look more like my mom's side of the family, but act more like my dad's side. It the exact opposite with my sister. She looks like my dad's side of the family but acts just like my mom. Both my mother and sister are insane, so I'm glad I took on the personality traits of my dad!
