First of all having sex during your period is gross and uncomfortable for you. You need to use birth control PILLS and condoms. Ask your bf how many girls he has slept with. Also has he ever had sex with men? Has he ever been tested for STDs? If you are unsure about his answers to any of these questions never have sex with him. Read about the female reproductive system and menstral cycle. From that info you can understand when ovulation probably occurs in your body (which is the time you want to avoid!). You need to know all the infomation about sex (What STDs are out there, how to prevent pregnancy, etc) before you start having sex. Sex is a very serious subject. If you dont know what you are doing you could get pregnant or develop an STD, which could kill you. Go see a doctor to get Birth control pills and have a pap smear every year if you are having sex. And get tested for STDs every year or so by your doctor. If you have insurance through your parents it is covered.

There is a time of your cycle when getting pregnant is the least likely however you should use protection always because it is not guaranteed and there is no way to tell for sure when that time is. Use condoms or birth control all the time. Also having sex while you are on your period is not pleasant especially for the guy.

You should use a condom and birth control pills, go to your doctor or planned parenthood to get a perscription. And yes, you can get pregnant during your period, it's actually possible to get pregnant anytime during your cycle since every woman is different there is no exact time when it's the safest. Don't have sex with him unless you are willing to accept the consequences of your actions.

Having sex is always risky, and don't forget about STDs, it's not just pregnancy...get on birth control and use a condom. OR, better yet, wait until you are old enough to deal with the consequences if you are not willing to take precautions.

As long as your cycles are predictably regular and about 4 weeks long, it is safe for a week leading up to your period, thru your period (yuck), and the week after your period.
The week in between those is NOT safe. There are 1-2 days that you are actually ovulating and can get pregnant, and they fall in that week that is the second week after your period.
IF your cycle is not regular, ie it changes length from cycle to cycle, then do not use the rhythm method. Get on the pill. It is a small price to pay to not have to worry! Plus, it regulates your cycle.

I got pregnant the last day of my period. I knew there was a slight chance that could happen, but didn't really think it would. AND I was on birth control. So..the only real way to be protected is by using condoms and birth control (i.e. pill, patch, IUD, shot). Birth control is not 100%, believe me!

Yes it's risky to have sex during menstration! There's always a chance to get pregnant. There is no best time when there is no risk.... Always, always, always use protection. And just b4 he climaxes he needs to make sure the condom hasnt slipped off... How do you think I know? It happened to me!.... :o(

If you have sex, no matter the situation, you can get pregnant. There is no time at which to have unprotected sex and not risk pregnancy until after you hit menopause, and then even that has happened too.

Based on your question, you are obviously too young to even be thinking about sexual relations. Wait until after you take biology (9th grade?) and sex ed classes so that at least you have some idea of what happens with your body.
