are you running McAfee privacy service? if you are that is the problem. remove it

In Windows XP
Press the Ctrl - Alt - and Delete keys at the same time, click the task manager button
Click the processes tab
On the menu click view then click select columns
Place a check mark in Virtual Memory Size

Your Task Manager is the best that you have available...there are other ways but that is the easiest...it will not be specific to virtual but as long as you know what is utilizing the most you will be set.

control-alt-delete will bring up "task manager" which gives you some measures of amount of memory being used by different applications/programs.

if you have xp:
click on the start menu
go to control panel
go to add/remove programs
if you have anything older:
go to my computer
click on control panel on the left
go to add/remove programs
