nope. i refuse to. If my computer crashes and my hard drive is screwed, that means i would have to purchase it again. i would rather go into a store and purchase the album. that way i have an original hard copy of it.

iTunes (and the internet in general) is a great way to find out about music and track things down. However, I never buy from iTunes unless it is an exclusive because of the sound quality. It's all 128kbps, which means it is severely compressed. It might sound ok on your earbuds but when you hook it up to your stereo, it will become apparent that the depth is just not there. So, most of the time, I buy good old fashioned CD's and rip 'em. Thanks to all my previewing and reading of peer to peer reviews, however, I rarely end up with something I don't like.

If you do end up buying from iTunes (using a gift card, which you can buy in many supermarkets, was a great idea), you can always burn your stuff to a disc - that will deal with any concerns about losing data (also it is essentially backed up on your iPod).

Enjoy the music!

Well I use iTunes, and here's why. I don't like putting music on my credit cards either, so I buy gift cards and put them on those, it's wonderful, and they have the biggest selection, and it's very easy and user friendly. I LOVE online music, it's a great way for me to hear new music, because they have tons of those lists like amazon does... "You might like this too..." or "people who bought that song also bought this..."
And there's playlists made by the public, free radio, and you can sample 30 seconds of a song to hear if you might like it or not. They also have video now where you can download TV episodes you missed, and music videos!
Just buy gift cards and they work like credit cards. All you have to do is put in the card code.
Good luck!
