Runescape is the best game. i don't think its a rpg but it a good game.

Neopets is kinda fun if you have nothing to do for like 10 mins. FF series isnt online (besides XI and its not free). Guild Wars is the only FREE online RPG i can think of the game is about 39.99 and an expansion was just released about a month ago. Thats about 49.99. Its totally free online play. Ill Link the site. Its not a bad RPG its pretty and kinda fun considering what your getting for free ^^. good luck

Neverwinter Nights.
Ok, it's not free (should be cheap now) but playing it is.
Also NwN II is on its way.. Looks pretty amazing.
