Our grandchildren are in CPS custody. Our son and his wife placed the children with us voluntarily then changed their minds, made allegations and CPS took them from us. The judge ordered home studies for us even though we were not on the list of alternative placement homes given to the court by our son. we filed an intervention to have some say in our grandchildren's future and get to see them. Our son and his wife now want us to drop the intervention and have threatened to not let us see the children. The foster parents abused the kids by spanking them and they were placed with the other grandparents who lost the right to oversee them before the originally came to us. Our son tells us that they will fight us in court to get custody. We do not want to take the children from them, only provide a safe and familiar place if CPS takes them again. What does an intervention mean? Our lawyer, CPS and our son were making good progress until yesterday when things blew up again. What do we do?

All you can really do is be truthful...you are only doing what you feel is in the best interest of your grandchildren (and that they got mad because of you help)~~~pretty common scenario

My guess would be that they har both sides of the story, they meaning cps. They will try in weight the pors and cons of the situation, but be careful, a lot of times cps will say one thing then turn around and do something totally different! They are not the most honest people by far. Usually when they get involved it winds up with them doing whatever they see fit, and usually it is totally against what you hoped for! Good luck in dealing with these folks!
