My nephew is 2 months old. He has been in the hospital since birth because he had complications. His mother already has 2 kids and she does not take care of them because she is always on drugs. His father is not fit to take care of him either. Me and my husband want to adopt him because we fear he will be taken away from his family and put into foster care.
How do we go about trying to adopt him? I know nothing about the legal system so i have no idea where to start.

her other 2 children are in the car of her parents. They do not belong to the father.

1 Get yourself a adoption lawyer and tell him everything and take it from there. God bless you for looking out for the little man

first of all there is no way you will be able to adopt them since the parents already have two children in their custody. The state has to declare them unfit and then take the other two away. Then they can be adopted. But you won't be able to remove one child and leave the others.
Get an attorney.

go visit a family attorney all your sister/husband have to do is terminate their rights and then you apply to have them appointed to you however thats in Texas each state probably has there own protcol

wel u can adopt ur nephew even though he has his parents wth their willingness thrgh the court its not tht lengthy process.hope everythin goes well.

contact a laywer or maybe calling family services and talking to someone there
