No one is looking at a single person at the movies and thinking that. (although you might be feeling that way).

When I was younger I would not go to the movies unless I had a friend to go with. I missed so many movies waiting around on someone to either ask me or find time to go with me.

When I broke up with my ex husband I decided I'd do what I wanted to do, no more waiting on someone else to join me. So I started taking myself to the movies as well as to restraunts for dinner occasionally. At restraunts I bring a book to read since I don't have anyone to make conversation with.

Going to the movies alone can actually be a very relaxing experience and if you can motivate yourself to try it, after the first couple of times you'll realize that no body is paying any attention to who your with or not with.
If you don't want to appear to be alone, go at a time when others are going and sit in a section that has plenty of people so it looks like you are part of that group.

I do it quite a bit. Especially if it's something that I want to see and other people's schedules are in conflict with mine. I watch a lot of videos at home with the family. However, they aren't always available when I want to go out to a movie.

I really don't worry about what other people think. I have worked to be my own person for the sake of being my own person. I feel a great sense of freedom and adventure because of this.

I have even taken vacations solo and had a terrific time. I met people that have become life long friends that I know travel with as well. Enjoying the company of myself is a real treat.

When I was in the Navy I got sent to a Tech school in Lemoore, Ca. There was nothing t odo and only 5 of us in the class. Some were based there and the others had family members that came with them. So I had nothing to do but either go to the bar or go to the movies. I seen Howard Stern Private Parts like 5 times in 3 weeks I was there. It was horrible...

I used to go all of the time. There comes a point in your life when you stop constantly worrying about what other people think about you. I hate going with people, because sometimes they tend to talk a lot or eat all of the popcorn. I hate nothing more than the obnoxiously loud and giggly group of girls who disrupt the whole movie. I like to watch the movie. Not to socialize.

I have done it many times. I've done it when I've been single, and I've done it even now that I'm married. If you want to go see a movie, go see it! You should never been affraid or care what others are thinking about you. Whether you're going to the movies alone, dining alone, anything else.

Enjoy the show, and don't forget the popcorn!

To me, watching a movie isn't really a social event. I only go see movies in the theater if I seriously think they're going to be good movies. I don't need to wait for someone else to watch the movie with me. If you only go see movies with other people, you're at the mercy of letting them pick the movies.

I don't think I would...but then again, since my boyfriend's in another state as me it's kinda hard to go together....I might just go by myself!
I wouldn't care what the other people are thinking! It's not like you'll ever see them again :) I'd just be paranoid about being a single girl out there by myself! I guess I've seen too many "Lifetime" movies :) LOL

No - I would go to the movies. I feel strange eating at a restaurant alone though. I don't know why either cuz I don't look at other people alone in a restaurant and think anything. What's up with that?

I once went by myself cos I was out shopping and had time left before going home so I went to a movie. It all depends on how you feel about yourself. If you feel people are looking then you will see ppl looking.

No, I don't give a shet what others think. But I don't usually go alone either b/c it's just less fun sitting there alone w/ no guy to cuddle to or a friend to ***** to. But I do, if it's something i REALLY want to see. I tried to get in to watch Save the Last Dance when it came out, but it was full. Those bastards.
