I actually phoned the pool the other day with the same question. They said at 4 months there ears are ready for the water. That's how old my daughter is, and I took her the other day. She loved it. 4 months is also the age that mom and baby lessons start. God Bless and have fun.

My youngest son was born in May and I had him in the pool by June. I kept him in as long as I felt comfortable with him in it. If the water is too cold he will scream and turn blue.

As soon as possible. Just stay with your baby to prevent an accident. My mom put my sister and me in the summers after we were born--that's been the way with all the babies in our family. Starting early prevents fear later.

My daughter was 6 months old the first time I took her swimming. She LOVED it! Just be sure to hold on to that slippery little baby- they love to splash and wiggle and squirm!
