It is a true psychological fact that at some point in our adolescence we all have a stronger or fainter homosexual drive. But it is also true that then most people start feeling attracted to the opposite sex. And others never do. For these people, the "natural" thing is to feel attracted to people the same sex. Heterosexual sex is no more natural than homosexual sex. It's true only heterosexual intercourse can produce life. But then again, how many times do most straight people have sex, taking special care NOT to get pregnant? Sex is not about giving birth. Sex is about having pleasure. And a few people have pleasure when they are with a person their sex. You can't stop them having pleasure!
Besides, you talk about addiction, as though sex were something bad. You get addicted to drugs, alcohol, and that kind of things, which are bad, only because they destroy your organism (not for moral considerations, which are totally subjective and out of the question). But homosexuality doesn't destroy your organism. So, there's no addiction there. And let's not talk about AIDS, because by now, we all know that AIDS can be caught by gay or straight people alike, including people who have never had sex at all.
Sorry if I'm wrong, but I think that you are too influenced by religious values, which are okay in church or with other believers, but not in "real" life. Science has removed homosexuality from the list of diseases over thirty years ago. It's not an addiction. It's not a vice. It's just a lifestyle that some people adopt (not willingly, or by choice, anyway, because homosexuality is not a choice: if it were, no one would actually choose to belong to a highly discriminated minority). And we straight people are very very far from beginning to understand what that is like. I wouldn't be so judgmental about them.

Not a good question to ask.
The gay community says they were born that way, and there is some evidence that has suggested that a change in hormone levels introduced into the fetal brain may be the root of the homo-sex orientation.
The lust question can be made for anyone and its valid, but not likely.
Ask a lesbian if she'd be willing to give up her orientation for children, she'll tell you no. She probably sees the male female bond as repulsively as I see the male male coupling picture.
When was the last time you thought about being with a woman? how did it make you feel...?
Ask your self some intimate ?? and see if you aren't as confused as everyone else on this issue.
By the way I am also christian and can't accept the gay community on any issue except the fact that they are people too and have the right to choose their own life and how they live it.

Yes some people are born like this and some are pushed into being with the opposite sex. When I say pushed into it I mean some have been raped by the opposite sex or abused in one way or another by the opposite sex. As far as being born with it when we are in the early developments in our mothers womb hormones are giving off to determine whether or not you are going to be male or female. Sometimes these hormones get crossed and allow females to appear more masculine and male to appear more feminine. Some people have no control over there feelings. Sure people have thoughts and yes some do not act on it but that is because they are afraid of what society and family will think about them. Some people go with thier feelings and some don't don't out of fear of rejection. I guess love is an addiction and we all run towards it whether it be same sex relationships or opposite sex relationships. Whether it be straight or gay we are ALL looking for that special someone to be with. So no I do not believe it is just a lifestyle no more than chosing to be a male or female at birth.
((((( I am bi sexual and NO my mother had nothing to do with it. She hates gays so do not blame parents for their childs sexual prefrences. We all make our own decisions.)))))

This is a very interesting take on the whole sexuality thing, and i don't agree with it but its interesting. I also agree that no one is born gay, i think that is soooooooooooo ridiculous. I think its a choice and i can understand if someone says they are bisexual then i think they really care about the emotional and physical aspect of a relationship. Homosexuals always say its not about the sex but truly because of the feeling they get from the person they are with, then why is it that they completely write off the opposite sex? If its not only about the physical aspect of the relationship and not the emotional part. They always strive for normality (having a male and a female counterpart in the relationship), but always look down upon heterosexual relationships. Too many questions not enough answers.

You could just as easily say that heterosexuals are a bit weak, and got addicted to the opposite sex. It's just as natural or unnatural as homosexuality. Which means gay people are not any different than anyone else.
We all have powerful sex drives wired into our biology. That heterosexuals' sex drives *can* result in a child (it doesn't always) doesn't make the sex drive any different than homosexuals. If sex were ONLY done for the express purpose of creating offspring, heterosexuals wouldn't do it nearly so often. The fact is that sex gives us humans pleasure, both heterosexual and homosexual alike. As much as we're wired to have a sex drive, we're wired to seek the pleasure associated with sex. That you can get that pleasure from a partner of the opposite or same sex is a fact -- and it doesn't have to result in the creation of a child to be pleasurable. Seeking that pleasure is completely natural, so there's nothing "unnatural" about homosexuality.
Note to "whynotaskdon" -- you are mistaken. Homosexuals do NOT get AIDS more than heterosexuals. The world health organizations latest study put the ratio at about 75% heterosexual and 25% homosexual...just about their respective distributions in the population at large.

I agree with most of what you say. Everyone has had some attraction to someone of the same sex at some point in their lives. I think homosexuals have a stronger desire than nonhomosexuals. I also think that the decision to try homosexuality has several factors including what other people (friends and family) think about the lifestyle and what society thinks. People say that there are more homosexuals now than ever, but the reality is homosexuality is more acceptable now that it has ever been, so more people embrace their chosen lifestyle or are more willing to experiment.

Random thoughts are not choices...they pass for others too. That is a bit judgemental in saying they are weak minded and merely follow through on random thoughts.
Get with the program...they are programmed to same sex attractions. They would never have thoughts of opposite sex relationships.

I agree with your theory. I'm not saying that I ever had thoughts about people of the same sex as me, and I think that could be because of my upbringing, but I think you make a valid point in that if one was having such thoughts of the same sex, and actually acted on it, then they are weak in controlling it. I believe we are created different yet equal, and it is unnatural to be homosexual. Just my two bits. Not to offend anyone...just my opinion on these matters...
Just another comment...For those that believe in God (whatever form or name you want to call him)...Most people refer to God as "him", "He", etc...(the male form)...and those that believe in him also believe he created mankind. Mankind is male and female. Now if God wanted homosexuality to be natural and to exist, why didn't he just create man, and not women. It is because, he wanted man and women to unite and procreate. You cannot procreate without man, or woman, and therefore being homosexual is against God's will, and completely unnatural.
Not meant to offend anyone again, just my thoughts.

nice for you to think so, as it validates the institutionalized fear of people that don't fit into your preconceived notion of normal.
homosexuality is not for you. fine.
what makes you think homosexuals do not feel twinges of attraction to members of the opposite sex, and that being with members of the same sex is natural for them?
you say you don't want "mean" feedback, yet you insult homosexuals by calling them weak, when they are STRONG enough and BRAVE enough to accept that they ARE gay in a world where so many think like you.

No one is born gay
its a choice that slowly creeps into the mind
i think it has to do with how you are brought up
i have a friend who was brought up with his mom saying its okay to watch naked people do certain things, he is gay now
it is the complete oppistie for me
there might be other factors also
