What type cable connects a Compaq Presario V2000 with a HP Laserjet 1100 printer?
The HP does not use standard parallel, and my notebook uses mostly USB. (There's something called "Expansion Port", but I'm not sure if a printer cable would be compatible.)
Thanks
Vaughn

The HP site states: "High-speed bidirectional IEEE 1284 compliant parallel port (C-type connector)."

Is this a standard-type Centronics connector?

Thanks!

More than likely what you need is a centronics to a parallel cable. The centronics is the end that will connect to the printer and the parallel should plug into your parallel connection on your laptop. If you don't have a parallel on your laptop then you want to buy a centronics to usb adapter cable. These are harder to find but you should be able to find it online.

Buy an A to B USB cable to a local computer shop. You can't use expansion port for printer port.

It could be a parallel cable (IEEE) hooked to LPT1.
