It's not racist to only want legal immigrants. The trouble is, most of the people making all the noise about illegal immigration right now only care about Mexican (and central/south american) illegal immigrants -- because they look different and speak a different language. That's racist. If all of our illegal immigrants were from England, they wouldn't say a word. That they only attack Mexican illegal immigrants belies their true motives.
Why compare us to communist and dictator/royalty led governments? We're supposed to be better than they are. We have in our constitution guarantees of basic human rights, while those other countries do not. We *should* achieve a workable solution to prevent illegal immigration, but not with racism as its root cause and not at the expense of human rights. We're supposed to be better than that.

I think the problem is the perception that the system for admitting people to the country is skewwed based upon race. There are probably more Hispanics that try to get into the country than any other group. However, the system for admittance, requirements on skilled labor, knowledge of American history, etc. tend to prevent more Hispanics (i.e. Mexicans) than say, educated Western Europeans, the disparate impact upon an easily identifiable racial group makes the insistance on "legal immigrants" a racial position.
Seriously, picture an 'illegal immigrant'. Its hard to not picture a Mexican person, isn't it? (Please don't take this as endorsing a racial stereotype... its really a function of geography and economics... Mexico is poor and close... so there are more Mexican illegals).

Just because illegal immigrants have a worse time in other countries doesn't mean their situation in the States is justified. Besides, the USA is the main cause why these people need to immigrate. Your country has created the problem. You people cannot complain about the consequences.

It's not a bad thing. Racist is what the liberals always use to make you feel guilty. We are the only country with such open borders and it puts us in grave danger.

It's not fair that some get to stay illegally. If we went to another country people would be mad that we're there illegally.
