I feel a little depressed and almost like i'll never have this baby. I don't want to seem impatient, but when my due date came and passed, it really got me thinking. I'm schedualed for a BPP exam tomorrow to make sure that everything is okay. And Monday they will offer me the option of being induced. I'm just so fried.. You can really only stand to be pregnant for so long. Anyway, anyone have any tips just to SOMEWHAT jump start labor?

Have sex (if you're up to it - and you probably are not right now)- that's what got me into labor. Goodluck and sorry you're feeling so fried. It's no fun but hang in there, and pretty soon you'll see your sweet little baby!

I had labor induced because my girl just didn't want to drop...but my doctor did it as soon as my due date passed due to a large baby, and not wanting any complications.
I did hear about a few things that should work.
I've heard that walking can help, and so can having sex.
I don't know if it's true...but best of luck, and if it goes too long go for the induction. It's better safe than sorry.

Walk, walk allot. It happened to me i started to walk and clean and do lots of walking on stairs. Until it got so uncomfortable I went into the hospital. Then I got induce. A due date is usually on a 40 week period but it can be from a 40-42 week period. If there is no bad sings and your baby is still bouncing around in there. Is fine. You dont always have the baby when the doctor gives u a date. Is kind of like a guess. Sometimes is a little before, sometimes is a little after.

congrats!!

I was a month over with my son! I hate to tell you this but you can't "jump start" labor. TRUST ME! I tried everything. I went on-line and did searches and tried things from castor milkshakes to squats to laxatives to jumping jacks (that was quite a show) to nipple stimulation to sex to baby balm and everything in between! Those women that do these things and then go into labor, it's just a coincidence. None of works. Just try to enjoy your last week end. I know it's tough to do. Get dressed up and go out to dinner at a nice restaurant. Go to the movie theater. Do the things you won't be able to for a while once your little one comes. Good luck!

If you are healthy try inducing your own labor. There are a few different methods but be careful. some of them can have bad side effects. For instance you can a tablespoon of Castor Oil every hour for 3 hours. If nothing then do not take anymore. Nipple stimulation also works. You can try herbal remedies like blue cohosh tea. But it also does not always work. But either way the baby will come when he/she is ready.

Have the Dr. induce you is so much easier on your body and goes so much faster. When I was pregnant with both of my daughters I tried Castor oil, walking, primrose oil on my cervix, everything you can think of. It made me exhausted. I wish I would have just held in all that energy for when the Dr. induced me. But here are a list of things my Dr. gave me to help "jump start" Nipple stimulation, walking, and sex. There is something in the semen that helps to thin your cervix. Good luck!

All of the "home remedies" I tried (i.e. spicy food, Castro oil) never worked. My Doc told me to do what i did to get in the position (sex) and lots and lots of walking. I went into labor the day before they were supposed to induce me. Only a few more days hang in there!

Alot of people have sex to induce the rush of going in to labor. My friend did alot of exercises that helped the back and ab section, do that. I perfered squats, do like 30, if you can.

Have your doctor induce you because you never really know what the risks of home remedies are and it's better to follow the doctors orders so as not to creat further complications.
