This sounds like a build up of ammonia/nitrates/nitrites, or a PH issue. (Maybe all of the above) Replace 1/2 your water. Get a test kit or bring a sample of your water to your pet store. Read up on the nitrogen cycle. Be sure to vacuum your gravel regularly as part of regular partial water changes. (Bucket and a cheap passive gravel vaccum is all you need.) Try not to over feed.

Like mentioned, we need to know more! It is impossible to diagnos fish without any knowledge of what is going on!

We need to know:

Tank size

How many fish, what kind and size

how often do you do water changes

what kind of filter do you have

what are the readings for: ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, pH? (a pet store can check for you, we need the exact readings)

Any unusual spots, ulcers, fin fraying, fuzz, cloudiness, blood spots, etc????

I suspect its a water quality problem. Only thing I can tell you right now is until you can figure out what the problem is, do a water change.

Change about 50% of your water (since this is an emergency situation). Normally you should never change that much water but I really think that is your problem. If its goldfish Im willing to bet you have too many in your tank. Only one goldfish per 10 gallons, my friend. And you must change your water once a week, about 25% of it. If you have too many fish and arent doing water changes that is why your fish are dying.
