Would you like to hear a more positive spin on the news?

We are always hearing about the evil a small sect of our military commits, but the news never reports the positive that we are doing or the positive impact we are having.

Do you agree or disagree...

The majority tends to beleive only bad news sells. I have to disagree.

Fox puts much less negativity or hositility into their reporting and look at their ratings.

People do not only want to listen to a negative spin. I listen to a Christian Radio Station KLOVE where it is a positive alternantive. They report news, positive news, you don't hear anywhere else. It is a fresh alternative that I really appreciate.

I totally agree!!! fox news is the only media that gives a fair report without leaning left or right... they don't report rumors like other media does, they wait for the facts!!!!!!!!! then they give both sides of the story , not just one biased side!!!!!!! there are so many wonderful stories of our guys helping Iraqi citizens, playing with the kids over there etc... there are so many thankful citizens in Iraq that no one interviews and reports on... war is always hell , every war has been and will always be... that is the nature of war... people get killed, injured, etc... and yes of course its horrible and sad.. no one likes war! yet war is sometimes necessary , with out our participation in it.... Hitler , or Mussilini, or other dictators and war mongers would be running the world ...there are bound to be errors, friendly fire, and some who do wrong things.. even in our country we have murderers , rapist, etc.... sure some of them could end up enlisting in the service... but they are not the majority! the majority are decent people there to help and protect the innocent not hurt them.. these are the stories the news should be concentrating on and reporting, instead of giving fuel to the Jihadist who like to behead people on tv, and the left wing that seem to hate their own country... and do not have respect for our president or understand loyalty to their country and average citizen.

Definitely! Because this is unfortunately what too many people want to read and see! As much as s** sells, bad news do to.
Every now and then there are some attempts to only publish positive news on certain days. That extra effort surely shows that the media are well aware what the main focus of their normal publications is..

I think Don Henley said it best:

Dirty Laundry

I make my living off the evening news
Just give me something-something I can use
People love it when you lose,
They love dirty laundry

Well, I coulda been an actor, but I wound up here
I just have to look good, I dont have to be clear
Come and whisper in my ear
Give us dirty laundry

Kick em when theyre up
Kick em when theyre down
Kick em when theyre up
Kick em when theyre down
Kick em when theyre up
Kick em when theyre down
Kick em when theyre up
Kick em all around

We got the bubble-headed-bleach-blonde who
Comes on at five
She can tell you bout the plane crash with a gleam
In her eye
Its interesting when people die-
Give us dirty laundry

Can we film the operation?
Is the head dead yet?
You know, the boys in the newsroom got a
Running bet
Get the widow on the set!
We need dirty laundry

You dont really need to find out whats going on
You dont really want to know just how far its gone
Just leave well enough alone
Eat your dirty laundry

Kick em when theyre up
Kick em when theyre down
Kick em when theyre up
Kick em when theyre down

Kick em when theyre up
Kick em when theyre down
Kick em when theyre stiff
Kick em all around

Dirty little secrets
Dirty little lies
We got our dirty little fingers in everybodys pie
We love to cut you down to size
We love dirty laundry

We can do the innuendo
We can dance and sing
When its said and done we havent told you a thing
We all know that crap is king
Give us dirty laundry!

Negative news sells. How are they gonna get commercials booked during their time slots if they are the sunshine and lollypop squad? People don't pay attention to good news unless it is them winning the lottery.

As for the good our military is doing? Hmmm....that's questionable. How good are we doing in Guatanamo Bay with the persons we have detained there?

How good are we doing in Afghanistan....feeding the people yah that's good, hunting down supposed terrorists, sure that's good, killing bystanders - that's bad

Iraq....don't even start

They have to focus on the most negative things possible. The news is not about information, it's all about ratings, its a buisness. We have to all be paranoid, stressed out, and stir crazy about everythihng and each other.

Because we are not supposed to feel safe.

But mostly just ratings. Who can scare who the most!

Shock = $$$$$$

I do. I was thinking that today as I looked at a picture of a dead mans face on the cover of the newspaper. I kept looking at it because I thought it was barbaric to have his picture in the paper like that. Yes he was an was a bad person but gosh. It’s just a sign of the times.

Of course it does, it falls in place with the fact that misery loves company and. People have become more miserable and sad in the past 20 years. Joy has been replaced with misery

The media in general focus's their attention too much on the liberal left wing agenda, it follows what's going to get them the most ratings, they have forgotten their creed of unbias, honest reporting and have bowed to the almighty dollar.

As the saying goes; "No news is good news". Unfortunately only the negative sells.
