Pay and benefits are usually OK. Hours SUCK. You are NEVER off duty and must cover for EVERYONE else.

The "Pros & Cons" depends on the (mix of the participants)

** type of manager (leader)

These types are the extremes:

- hardcore [ get it done yesterday - type ]
- clueless [surrounds self with lots of people to hide - type]

___________________and

The type(s) of employees (followers - ???)

- lifer {present & on-time since the first load of bricks}
- newbie {present a few minutes prior to clocking out 4-dah-da}

"Let's FACE IT" - new managers are babies, presiding over employees that have been elegible for retirement approximately 3 - 4.5 years ago.

Trends are "backwards"

-- feminine - too agressive
-- masculine - uses too much cosmetics

-- parents are afraid to dicipline their children
-- children grow up without experiencing "childhood"

-- these children grow up and became managers

The Pros and Cons - there's got to be a "Soap Opera" that covers this [I wouldn't know - I don't do "nose drama"
