When you think of medicine in the dark ages do you frown upon it? Recently things like treatment with bloodsuckers, maggots came back into regular medicine. We don't seem to be that advanced at all. Though I'm glad it is around.

My proposition is that only when we can heal a person without invasive methodes we are getting to a new level of medicine. Untill then we are still in the dark ages.

what is the main point of your question?
do you mean surgery?
in recent years there has been a great developement in surgery methodes and in many cases laparoscopy is done instead of laparatomy .it means instead of opening the patients abdomen you perform the surgery through 2 small holes.
i am sure that newer methodes will be introduced each year to change invasive methods to more gentel ones.but dont be so psimistic about surgery even harsh metodes have saved many peoples lives.

As long as doctors are healing people we will be barbarians. We need a complete paradigm shift. Doctors should be in the business of KEEPING people healthy.

Remember to double clutch when shifting paradigms.
