Chew up some antacid (Tums, Rolaids), but keep it in your mouth. Then take a sip of some soda (7up or Coke), then drop to the floor shaking like you are having a fit. Foam should come out of your mouth. When they say you should go to the hospital, tell them you think you feel okay and probably just need some rest.
Oh, make sure you are in a visible area, but don't let anyone see you preparing. Have fun.

Anything gynecological, or related to menstruation ALWAYS works with a male boss. They don't want to know too many details!
A female boss will know, although you may have to give some details, that either of those complaints COULD mean you'd really have to leave work.

You can say that you have just rec'd a call on your cell phone from your "whoevers" work and you are the person to call in case of emergency. You can figure out details later...as you don't know yet but have to go right away.

the involvment of a close relative in a serious accident. Or your strong religious beliefs that you must be at home for the opening ceremony of the world cup, and it is your human rights to have your religion accepted.

Tell your boss you have an appointment. It's not a lie and it's not disclosing your personal matters. Your time away from work is your time especially if they stop paying you when you leave, what do they care?

You could take the honest approach and just use vacation or personal time. You shouldn't even have to give a reason if you do that and it would be the ethical thing to do.

don't lie to your boss just to watch a football game. have someone tape it for you. but don't lie to your boss. if your boss ever found out then you will most likely either get fired or get a deduct on your payments. and that would really suck. just tell him the truth. ask him, "sir, can i have (so and so) fill in for me for about and hour or so. i would like to watch a football game, please?" that's what i would say. but i wouldn't lie.

Pretend you're having a siezure. Throw yourself on the floor and start convulsing. I've done that before in public!
