About San Francisco

San Francisco, with a population of almost 800,000 and an area of 49 square miles, enjoys a reputation much larger than its actual size. It's the second most densely populated city in the United States, after New York. Called simply "The City" by those who live near it and never "Frisco," it's often ranked as one of travelers' favorite cities. Iconic San Francisco sights include the Golden Gate Bridge, Fisherman's Wharf, Pier 39, Alcatraz, Ghirardelli Square, Chinatown, cable cars, Union Square, "crookedest" Lombard Street and Golden Gate Park. In recent years, the San Francisco waterfront has undergone a dramatic renaissance, boasting a new baseball park, upgraded waterfront walk, renovated Ferry Building filled with boutique food shops, and a historic trolley connecting it all. Other popular areas include North Beach, SOMA (south of Market) and the gay-focused Castro.
The top San Francisco hotel (literally, as well as in service) is the Mandarin Oriental, occupying the top floors of one of the city's tallest buildings. More rooms with a view are found at the Harbor Court and Hyatt Regency. Top luxury lodging includes the Four Seasons, Orchard, Argonaut, Omni and Hotel Drisco. More moderately-priced but offering nice amenities are Nob Hill Motor Inn, Chancellor Hotel, Castle Inn and Hotel Carlton. In the budget category, the Redwood Inn, Cow Hollow Motor Inn, San Remo and York Hotel offer good, clean accommodations for less than $100 per night. Many of San Francisco's most famous restaurants offer mediocre food at best, and locals avoid Fisherman's Wharf and The Stinking Rose in favor of neighborhood cafes such as Pacific Café, Ti Couz or Nob Hill Cafe. Top-rated are Restaurant Gary Danko, La Folie, Blue Plate, Pacific Catch and Masa's. Zuni Café serves cooked-to-order, oven-roasted chicken that's well worth the one-hour wait. The Cliff House, Carnelian Room and Top of the Mark serve up the city's best views. The local charities HelloMetro gives to.

I and my family and friends do not go there anymore for vacation. They are too liberal. They even let child abusers off easy. They hate the military. They have almost all liberal teachers to teach their kids to hate America. i spend my money in better places like Alaska or Ohio.
