Have you been in a coma the last two months?
Despite all of the devostating injuries to the Yankees' staff, they're LEADING the American League East! How would the Red Sox fair if just Manny or OrtÃz were seriously injured?
The Yankees are the better ball club without question.

Of course not. The Yankees have a shell of a team with Sheffield and Matsui both out for most of the year, Jeter, Posada, Giambi, A-Rod, and Rivera all missing time. Not to mention the bust that is Carl Pavano and yet the Yankees are still in first place. Once the team gets healthy and they make the trade for whichever pitcher they are going to go after (Willis, Zito, Hudson if the Braves decide to trade him) they will just improve even more. Now wether they will win the World Series or not who knows but the Sox might not even make it to the playoffs.

Seriously, speaking as a Red Sox fan for manny years. My answer would be, "NO." The Yankee is no better than the Red Sox either. It seem, these two two teams have equal powers, and picthing. We will find out in the second half.

It's tough to say with all the injuries both clubs have. Red Sox are really kicking themselves for trading Bronson. Yankees don't have Matsui or Sheffield perhaps for the remainder of the season, but players tend to heal faster then originally expected. I personally feel if the Lester makes a big impression on his first major league debut and makes his mark on the Red Sox, Beckett starts becoming a pitcher and not a thrower, Red Sox have the edge. Sox have the best defense in the AL and pitching and defense wins games. I'd like to see more of Paulie, but it almost sounds like they want him to start in the minors rather then staying on and pitching out of the bullpen. I say throw Clement in the bullpen and have him work out his problems in their and put Paulie in the rotation, who knows if and when Wells gets back. It's tough to say if Sox are better then the yankees, they both have injuries and they almost have identical records and the head to head battles are more or less at .500.

Absolutely!! The Yankees lack the pitching to win it all this year. The Red Sox do have the pitching, the hitting, and the best defense in the league and will win the big prize again in 2006!!
Hope this helps clear up your thinking.

So far this year they seem to be pretty evenly matched, but that is with many of the Yankees big bats rotating on & off the DL. If they ever get healthy, the Sox will probably not be able to stop them.
