What attracts you to where you currently bank? free checking, location, additional services? What does it take for you to move banks?

Lack of fees. The banking industry and phone companies have gone absolutely insane with stupid little screw-the-consumer fees and I'm tired of it.

I 'bank' with a credit union now, as they have the least amount of fees but even they are starting to go that route.

Customer service...the desire to do things to make it better for me. Desire to help, ability to help. Things like that. This does not mean trying to sell me things and services, just being courteous and helpful.

Usually what gets me to switch banks is that my current bank has pissed me off...usually due to fees but sometimes due to a lack in service.

Location and hours of operation are a big one for me. I also like the free services and take advantage of them.
I have considered moving when other banks have promotions, but then I go back to the fact that the people at my bank know me. They call me by name each time I go to the bank and that means alot. They have always been very helpful anytime I have a problem or needed something. They treat me like I really do matter and that I am not just a number. That has kept my loyalty to my bank.

Personal service. They treat me like they value my business. They have been extremely flexible, bending rules and waving fees and meeting my needs as much as possible. Although they are out of state and for that reason, I have to have a local bank just for convenience, I will not leave this bank.

I agree with Ernie... Credit Unions are the way to go. I work at a bank but I do most of my banking at my Credit Union.

The best bank is your local credit union.
