I Do All The Time. My Questions Are Never Older Than 2 Days. But I Don't Blame You, Sometimes People Do Ask Questions, Get Their Answers, And Don't Return The Favor.......Lazy Bastards......

I am pretty sure no one does. What is the point if no one uses it. The only people that give away the ten points are those that ask stupid questions as entertainment.

I do, but a lot of people spam comments (repeating or not answering the question) for two points. Another factor that contributes to it is the fact that you have to wait 24 hours before picking a best answer; people forget.
You lose five points for posting a question, but you gain 3 for picking a best answer (an incentive to help others when they look at your question and to help the answerer) and the two you post. The idea is if you pick a best answer and help in answering another question, then you break even. If you give more help than you recieve, you gain points.
I always give best answers to questions. Why? As an incentive to help others who have assisted me. To get 3 points back myself isn't bad either. Finally, it helps anyone with a similar question and stops yahoo answers from getting clogged up with the same question over and over again.
Oh, and I do ask serious questions- and none of my best answers have not answered the question or have been purely for entertainment. Many people forget.
Of course, you can still become the best answer if you are voted by the community while the question is in voting.

I will give ten points to the best answer for every single question I ask, guaranteed, whether my questions are serious or for entertainment. If you spot one of my questions then have a go, you might get the ten! All the best... :)

I do almost 99 percent of the time. The only time I don't is when I really just can't pick a best answer. But that happens rarely. I like getting 3 points back. It's like only using 2 points to ask a question really!!

It depends on the question I've asked... If i'm asking peoples oppinion sometimes i let it go to a vote... but when i'm looking for a specific peice of information I pick the best answer. Actually every best answer I've gotten had a comment to me from the person who asked... meaning they didn't put it to a vote but picked it themselves. And also most of the best answers I've rated had a comment from the asker also. Seems to me it's pretty much half and half...

I always choose best answers for my questions - unless I don't think any of them are worthy of a "best answer." Then I leave it up to everyone else to choose their best answer.
I only ask questions that are legitimate and I truly am looking for authentic answers. It's irritating to ask good questions and only have one-word answers or someone completely writing something for no good reason, other than to collect points. I think we should be able to vote on BAD answers and have points REMOVED from those who give them!

I do, I always select the best answers because I appreciate when people take the time to type something important.

i resolve all my questions, but i've seen many questions that i've answered stay unresolved.
it can be frustrating, but i also think...it's more important to answer the question than get 10 points that don't really matter....
i do like seeing resolved questions, though b/c that shows that the asker actually read the answers and cared about what the answerers were saying! (even if i wasn't picked as best answer)
i was going to ask a similar question today, but you beat me to it!
take care.

I almost always select best answers if there is one. Other people do use it, cause I've had a few.
