Yes, it would be a good thing if he were captured.
It wouldn't stop terrorism by any means, but it would stop *him* from sponsoring more terorrism. Trouble is, his followers would treat any capture/death as making him a martyr for the cause, and they'd probably just get angrier and do more.

*If* we capture him, we should try him LEGITIMATELY for his crimes, and put him in prison for the rest of his short life if he's found guilty (yes, even Bin Laden deserves a fair trial). We should not execute him -- that makes us as bad as the terrorists, who kill for their cause.

The only way the US gains legitimacy in the world is by example. If we torture, murder, exact revenge by killing, etc. then we have no moral standing to condemn others who do the same things. We need to stand for the rule of law, for human rights, and for treating everyone fairly.

He is a bad man who chould be brought to justice for his actions but the terrorism in the world will survive. The United States by going into Iraq has created more terrorist leaders for the years to come.

Bin Laden is nothing more than a criminal,a mass murderer with
the blood of thousands on his hands.I would like to see him captured, tried and put on death row. I wouldn't cry over it if he
was shot down like a mad dog, though.

Why would I rejoice? It's not like his capture would put an end to terrorism or even al-qaida.

Yes. But my opinion of Bush would not change if that's what you are getting at.
