1) Most people don't know what they need
2) Most people only know what they need when things have already gotten so bad as to see that this is NOT what they want or need
3) Some people are incapeable of articulating what they need, even if they know it.
4) Sometimes people say what they need and we just don't notice it
5) Sometimes people are too afraid or ashamed to know or say what they need
6) Sometimes people think that they shouldn't have to say what they need, we should just know
7) Sometimes people who can't or won't say what they need try to express it non-verbally
8) Sometimes people say what they need and we don't believe them
9) Sometimes people say what they need and we don't want to hear them
10) Since the world is not perfect and people are complex creatures, we all just have to do the best we can
