1st of all, Tom Cruise is an american, just like the rest of you, which means he has the right to be whatever religion he wants to be. Secondly, if you dont know much about scieintology, you dont have right to knock it. Im not a scientologist either, and Ill admit that a lot of it is very far fetched. But it is easily as improbable as chirstianity. I mean an immaculate conception, dude comes to life and walks on water and turn water into wine, then gets killed and rises from the dead, goes to hell and then acsend back to "heaven"? You people must admit that on paper, christianity is just as nuts. Furthurmore, most people who love to hate tom cruise dontt hink for themselves, and didnt bother to research beyond the crazy part of scientology and look at the fundamentals. Fundamentally, its acutally got a lot of stuff right. My point is, just because Cruise has chosen a non-mainstream religion to that seems strange to some of you, is that any reason to hate him as much as you do?

I dont think that the anger toward Tom is because of his religion. We have so many different religions in this country and everyone should be able to believe what they want to believe. What people have against Tom is that he is so arrogant about it. HE is the one acting like other people shouldnt believe what they believe because HE is right. We dont care what he believes but he shouldnt be telling everyone else that they are wrong.

Actors can't know anything else except acting? Tell that to Arnold or Sonny..
I've personally met Tom and there is no more likable guy. Just because he knows more about the mind than any Shrink, is'nt any reason not to listen to him.

. Shrinks think the brain does the thinking, Thats why the Drugs, Chemical Reactions etc, That may sound logical and fine, But have you ever had an out of body Experience and found out that you are not your Body or Brain?

You'd know the brain is just the Dashboard for the body. You don't need to have the body, only at lower conscious levels.

Man is a "Spiritual Being"who has degraded himself down to that level. The route back up and out is what Scientology is all about. It is worth checking out... Do you think upper level knowledge is something the man in the street is going to know about? Apparently so, as the only data I ever hear in the media is definitely not Scientology, It's data coming from the anti Scientology groups . If you knew the story behind it, you'd understand. We weren't suppose to ever find out. Truth will be suppressed.

When you were out of your body. You noticed you were where your attention was?
Ever been on the other side of the planet? You definitely don't have your body or brain with
You. You can find out about this Phenomena, and
If you haven't I assure you , you'd think Tom has lost it.

If you have; then you know that you are just consciousness or the Spirit. If you deal with the thing looking at your pictures, (YOU) Then you'll understand that Scientology is based on a whole different premise, one that in time will be proven the right premise. Thats why when you fix the Mind, You regain the other 90% of your abilities. Does shrinks do that? We (Scientology) Do... We really do get back your Memory of You, .. There is no greater adventure. Scientology is something you experience. It is not a belief system. Everyone can, in time observe a truth. Our perception determines how much of the truth we can see. Getting your attention Units back that is stuck in the painful incidents of our past will rise your perception in present time. On an individual basis that is done in Scientology. You will understand why there are so many viewpoints and why only at certain perception levels one can only see what they see. That is the Key to being FREE, raising your perception.

The man in the street will never know the truth. That is a path that requires disciplain and drive. Most have lost that, That is why 95% fail and can't have the truth.Scientology technology will get you to see the truths of existence,Look at how it is fought, Man doesn't want to change. That is why Scientology is for the Able. Some realize that they are more than a piece of meat...

You are where your attention is. You are just consciouness. Regain that lost consciouness and you'll start to understand. Find out who you are and everything starts to make sense. Especially your Mind.

Your Mind is just pictures and you are the thing looking at your pictures , and if your drugged what happens to the pictures (Your Mind)?

Drugs is one of the reasons you can't see your pictures, or why you can't remember. That is why Tom is down on drugs. The other is, bad deeds you have done. and want to forget, as you are basically good and then Pain is the other reason you can't remember your past (How ever long is real to you) Pain causes amnesia. Dianetics explains all that. Read it, there is a reason it has remained a best seller for over 50 years ya know...

So maybe if you think about it ;Tom has a point, you should maybe listen too...Find out the real truth, for yourself. The First people that said the world was round was laughed at too...

As you can see Tom is a particular case. However I think that some does indeed stem from scientology. What he says is endorsed by them afterall (and he learnt it off them).

Because you don't know much about it you don't understand that it is a cult, that can be dangerous and damaging to a person's well-being and their bank balance. I suggest you read below for some of the stuff they do, and then follow the links for more information why scientology is a cult.

Essentially some wierd theories:

Xenu - we are planted here by ancient aliens then exploded all over the planet. We have many 'thetans' inside us from that explosion.

Engrams - when we are unconscience we are susceptible to getting engrams which are engrams, these cause misunderstandings and can lead to an unhappy life.

Auditing - auditing can save you!!!!! (errmm yeah ok) This is where they practise brainwashing, indoctrination & physcology dependancies, but because they went through the same process they don't notice this.

Narconon purification - All drugs are stored in fats, and can be released decades latter from these fat cells. Superdoses of vitamins and sweatboxes apparantly sweat all the drugs out.

Suppresive people - these people are evil thetans who don't want mankind to succeed and enjoy scientology - they do it on purpose even though they know scientology is the truth.

Fair game - hounding critics in an often illegal way, with no boundaries simply because they spoke out against scientology.

Disconnection - in relation to SPs, you should seperate from any friends or family that are negative towards scientology and your involvement with it.

Hubbard made the claim that clears would have perfect memories and would never get ill.

Hard Sell - looking for particular needy people who have social issues that only scientology can save. Then performing 'personality tests' on them, which prove scientology can help them - well theres a surprise.

Outrageous Pricing - as it was to make a quick buck it comes at no surprise that people are expect to spend fortunes on the wonders that are scientology, even if they have to sell their house, get a loan, max out credit cards, or slave themselves to the CofScientology.

I can go on... Tell Lisa McPherson that it isn't harmful.

"On December 5, 1995, Lisa McPherson was dead on arrival at a hospital 45 minutes north of Clearwater Florida. According to the coroner's report, Lisa was underweight, severely dehydrated, and had bruises and bug bites (see the entire report here).

Lisa's last address was listed by the police as 210 S. Ft. Harrison in Clearwater Florida, which is the Fort Harrison Hotel, a Scientology property. Lisa had been a Scientologist from the age of 18 to her death at age 36. "

I don't think most people dislike Cruise for him being a scientologist. I think they dislike him because he is extrememly outspoken about his religious beleifs to others and has literally defaced others in the name of his religion. Brooke Shields is an example of this behavior. As an american you have the right to freedom of religion and speech which Cruise has taken advantage of. Just because you have those rights doesn't mean you should "use" them to deface or hurt another American or human being.

Yes over time Christians have been overly zealous with their beliefs and have pushed them on to others, I have the same opinion about those types as I do Cruise. I don't dislike or hate him...I simply don't understand why he feels he must push his beliefs in such a way as to hurt others. He simply must understand there is a world outside scientology in which most other people live. He can't simply disregard those people's experiences because they don't "fit" into Scientologies teachings.

First of all Tom Cruise is Canadian. However, it's not because of his religion that he isn't liked so much. It's because he is spouting off about things he knows nothing about in the name of religion. He claims what others are doing is wrong because they aren't following the rules of his religion, and he is using the media and his fame as his outlet. Each time he is on tv he starts talking scientology like everyone should care and convert. He's an ACTOR, not a prophet.

I hate him because of how he acts toward people. Like Brooke Sheilds, he knows nothing of being a woman or post partum depression. You feel like hurting or killing your baby or yourself... Tom says: excercise that will sove it---pllzzzz thats not only a stupid thing to say its a dangerous thing to say because that wont solve anything and it could cause you to eventually do harm when you dont seek real help. Also the way he acted toward Matt Lauer... what an idiot Matt was interviewing him (thats what he does). Tom says I know about Ritilin and Psychology.. he knows squat.. he has no degree or certificate in the matter just Scientology opinions on the matter,,,....Stupid

I could care less that he is a Scientologist. What he needs to do is keep his opinions to himself.

First of all, Scientology is NOT a religion. It is a Cult(look up the difference yourself).

Secondly, Tom is a self-righteous weirdo, that's why people dont like him.

Lastly, his opinions about Brooke Shields were waaaay out of line. How does HE know what it feels like to be a woman after childbirth? What a jerk he is!

You'll never catch me defending Tom Cruise as an actor but actually I agree with you. It's the majority stomping on a minority. For my part, I don't like anyone proselytising their religious beliefs in public - and that includes Tom Cruise - but if you condemn him, then you should condemn Christians who bash the Bible in public too.

After all, all religions are equally improbable.

I don't hate him because of his religion. I dislike the man because he thinks he's expert enough to speak on such subjects as post partum depression. What is he a doctor now that he's found Scientology? He knows nothing on the subject and ought to shut up about it. When he's a female and has experienced it, THEN he may be able to speak on the subject. He's an idiot.

first of all, Christians don't charge you to become part of their religion, like Scientologists. Secondly, as far fetched as Christianity may be, several people collaborated on the story, as opposed to one L. Ron Hubbard. Thirdly and most importantly, I hate Tom Cruise for kidnapping that poor little girl, artificially inseminating her, and holding her hostage until the baby is old enough to harvest from the mother. Simply put, HE"S WEIRD, and I don't want to have to be forced to know about his personal life, just because he decided that he wants to over-expose himself. It's like rape on my brain
