Well...actually finding a "British" shipping company is pretty hard these days. There are plenty who still operate in the UK though, including Cunard, P&O, Maersk, Graig, BUE Marine, BP, Caledonian MacBrayne, Stena and Carnival UK.

The first link below is to the UK Chamber of Shipping, and has links to most if not all of these companies and a host of others besides.

The second is to NUMAST, the UK trade union for merchant seafarers, which also holds quite a lot of information about how these companies conduct themselves within its news archive.
