Ok, so I could probably google it or look it up in my books, but this section needs some questions lol and, hey, nothing like experienced advice in person is there!?(on yahoo? lol)
I'm not that experienced in using tools for rituals, spells, ect.-never needed them-but would like to attempt to clean my home of any possible non physical, non friendly Entities potentially lurking around. I cannot use my power of will for this anymore as it no longer seems to be working.
I know some people believe what they want(as is their right)and I fully expect the first few answers to be from the uneducated, but do yourself a favour and don't waste your time or answer here if you have nothing constructive to say.
I'm not interested in christian viewpoints either, sorry. Been there, found the flaws.
So, does anyone know how I should go about it? Is White Sage any good?

You say any "possible" uninvited guests. You don't know if you have any? My honest suggestion would be if you aren't being bothered, don't do much of anything. I actually get lonely in non haunted houses. Since I deal with the supernatural on a live and let live basis- most of it pretty much does the same for me. Also, most methods of dealing with this would depend on what exactly you have. If you don't know, it's hard to do anything effectively.
White sage, in my experience, is pretty good though, in that malevolent beings don't seem to care for it, but benevolent ones do. Lilac is another good option for discouraging the less desireable ghostly element. I wouldn't do the iron method, because some things which you'd want in your house, may take offense to it. Iron and salt is actually an old method of dealing with fair folk, and might not do a darn thing to an actual ghost, anyway. I'm pretty sure no self respecting demon would care, either. Well, the salt, maybe. Salt is kind of a barrier to power of any kind. I tend to avoid it for that reason.
If you're at a loss, but are just concerned about any potential eventual threats coming at you from outside, it might be a good idea to get a god or demon on your side. There are many supernatural beings with a protective nature. To deal with them, however, I would suggest coming to them using methods from their cultures of origin.

white sage is wonderful blessed be i am a wiccan priest. sweet grass is also good if druid try mistle toe. for cleaning the mind is strong. what i do is sweep it with a ritual broom called a besom then i sage the area. cast a lesser banishing ritual of the pentagram. then cast 3 circles first with my athame the second with consecrated water and salt and third with consecrated incense and coals (fire and air) this cleans an area very well to keep it this way for longer periods cast the circle an additional 2 times and imagine the area fading out into smoke, all spiritual creatures will have diffuculty seeing this area or anything going on in this area because the "fog" blinds out any spiritual light you make. if your worried about prying eyes then a sphere with a mirror outer shell will work well.

White sage is an excellent all purpose smudge, and Thyme is great for getting rid of anything you don't want, people, spirits, attitudes, stresses, etc. It smells foul, it'll drive out the family for a few hours too. Frankenscence is the big guns used by exorcists.
Once you've smudged and you feel you've given everyone their walking papers, sweep the whole house with the same broom. Sweep everything out the front door. This will prevent their returning. You can either burn the broom and scatter the ashes in front of your door or place the intact broom across the threshold each night to prevent them coming back. This also works, by the way, to keep ex-boyfriends and other undesireables from coming back.
Placing any broom across the threshhold prevents unwanted spirits from entering in case you want to burn the broom and still want to lay it across the threshold.

Sage is excellent.
FOR A PEACEFUL HOME
Gather freshly cut parsley and place it in a pan of water. Let it soak for nine minutes,
and then sprinkle the water throughout the house while visualizing a calm environment.
Peace will be restored.
HOME PURIFICATION
Incense: 1 tablespoon pine needles 1 tablespoon juniper 1 tablespoon cedar
Make sure all ingredients are completely dry. Grind ingredients together and burn on charcoal.
Spirits of the corners,
Winds of the quarters,
You who stand watching,
And you who hear my voice,
Guard well my home tonight
TO RID A ROOM OF EVIL
Light a cinnamon incense stick in the center of the room and walk to the
north east corner or wall. Say:
"Earth and air, purify to good, blow away evil."
Draw a pentagram of smoke and use the incense stick to stab through the
center. Walk to the Southeast corner of the room and say:
"Air and fire, blow away evil, burn away pain."
Repeat the pentagram and stab the center, then walk to the Southwest part of
the room. Say:
"Fire and water, burn away pain, wash away fear."
Repeat pentagram and stab. Walk to the Northwest part of the room and say:
"Water and earth, wash away fear,
bury all negativity, purify to good."
Repeat pentagram and stab. Walk to the center of the room. Point incense
stick to the sky and say:
"As Above..." Now drop an ash from the incense and say: "So Below"
TO CLEANSE A HOME FROM NEGATIVE ENERGY
These are especially good measures to take when moving into a new place, beginning
ritual activities in a new space, or to release bad feelings when an inhabitant has been sick or has died.
To cleanse a single room - on top of a newspaper, set a blue candle. Surround with a circle of salt.
Burn a little sage in the room. Light the candle, making sure it won't tip over.
Close the door and let the candle burn down.
When finished, take newspaper, salt, and candle leaving and bury far from your home.
To cleanse a house - select four corners. set four candles: north - black, east - white, south -
purple or dark red, west - blue.
Sprinkle a little salt at each doorway and window. Burn sage in each room, paying special
attention to windows and doors. Strew fragrant herbs (rosemary, basil, lavender, others
you like or consult a reference) and sweep them up with the salt.
Cast the swept herbs out your front door. You may want to sweep them off your porch so they
aren't on your property anymore.
Hope this helps!

I have heard the sage can help as well as open dishes of salt .... many variations exist from various cultures. I do not personally think that any of these things do really much more, however, than boosting your power of will. To me ritual can be useful but it is not an end to itself .. ritual is about finding your inner power.

I'm not religious but when I was growing up there was a house
in my neighborhood that had supposedly been haunted by the
ghost of a boy who committed suicide. The story went on that
the family who lived there had a priest do an exorcism, and reportedly it worked.
If you have "entities" in your house, you can keep that in mind anyway.

heat salt on an iron surface of some kind in any affected room.
in the old days it would have been an agricultural shovel (or the blade of a mattock) over the room's main fire.
these days an iron spoon (or even a steel ruler) over a spirit lamp will work just as well.

White sage is VERY good! Keep in mind what you are doing with it while you burn the smudge stick. Know what you mean about the powers! Usually they come back stronger for me after a "rest".

well, since i don't practice any religion i guess i can try to answer your question. i know it sounds crazy.. but why don't you talk to them . my grandma always said that if an entity is "good" you can reason with them. if they are "bad" then she also used to talk about putting salt all around in bowls, or even putting a thin line of salt around all doors and windows to keep out spirits. my grandma was native american but she always said to keep a bible in your house, and to put up a cross over very bed in you r house. I don't know if any of this is true, but both of my children have bibles in their rooms. (even though none of us have ever been to church) I've also heard about the sage. couldn't hurt nothing to try it.
