Not all mammals have belly buttons. Only placental mammals. The belly button comes from the umbilical cord attatching the fetus to the mother, supplying the fetus with nutrients.
The platypus, for instance, is a monotreme meaning it lays eggs. there are also some animals which give birth to live young, but they hatch out of an egg. These are called oviviparious. the eggs hatch inside of the mother and are reabsorbed, then the mother has live babies. This is more common in snakes.

animals that come from eggs can't because they weren't attached to the mother by the umbilical cord. all mammals have them because we were born inside the mother and connected by the cord (you know how belly buttons were made) but the furry animals belly buttons aren't visible because of the fur.
