There are only two ways to pre-choose gender. The first is if you are having IVF done, the X and Y sperm are sperated, and you choose the gender that way. This is the only definitive way that is basically 100% accurate. The only other option is to track your cycles and note when you ovulate. Typically the chances are better for a girl during the first part of ovulation, while chances for a boy are better during the second part of ovulation.

You can't really directly do anything to affect the sex, perhaps there are things the man can do to sway the jury, if you will.
Certain activities have shown to result in female children. Things such as the afforementioned climbers, due to the rigs that cut circulation to the trunk off mildly, and people who work around radiation. I am a nuclear pharmacist, and used to be a radiographer (x-ray tech), alot of the men I worked with had girls, I have an acquaintance that works on a nuclear submarine and he has made similar claims. The whole phenomena is caused by the fact that the Y chromosome that determines a male child, has a weak link as it branches off the body of the chromatid. Things like radiation, anoxia (loss of oxygen due to decreased circulation), excessive temperature cause the denaturization of that chromatid. I would not recommend trying to deliberately subject your husband/boyfriend to these as they can also result in sperm count reduction or other genetic anomalies that will cause natural termination (miscarriage).
If you are already pregnant and still prior to week fifteen or sixteen of gravida, then there are statistical studies that show that women with hyperemesis (morning sickness) that is more extreme generally tend to result in male children. It is also been shown that being sick in the morning is more ept to be a girl, evening more likely to be a boy. But these are just statistical studies, I have heard of instances where the sonographers determined it was one sex, and then when the child is born they were wrong.
My advice is just to take the steps to have a healthy baby, don't smoke or drink, get plenty of sleep, eat nutritously, take pre-natal vitamins. Good luck with your pregnancy whenever that might be!!

I read an article in a magazine almost 35yrs ago and it had to do with this very subject.
The essence of the article was that there are only a certain number of male dominate sperm so the theory is that the more often ejaculations occurs, the fewer the male dominate sperm are.
That is to say that if ejaculation occurs on a regular basis and the male dominate sperm are not allow to replenish your chances of achieveing the conception of a female are greater.
I do not remember the source of their study nor do I remember the acuracy of the study but it certainly makes sence to me.
The temperature of the testicles is a factor too.
The hotter the body keeps the testicles, the fewer the sperm count and I would suppose that would also mean a reduction of male sperm.......Good Luck

This only works for people that a pendulum works for. The vibes from the ground go through some people, not all. A pendulum made of chrystal, or of wood, or a commercial one made of the correct metals, or a button, or of glass on a string. Hold between thumb and forefinger over abdomen of mother of unborn infant. Girl:circles to left. Boy: circles to right. This can't be done before conception.

Go to your Gyno, she`ll do the scan and positively identify.

Personally I feel you should not go about pre-determining the sex of the unborn, who is Gods gift to you.

An educated person like you, knowing English, knowing use of internet, why can you be dumb in these matters? Suppose its a girl, and you decide to abort, and next time around its a boy, whom you accept.

And alas, what if he were to be born handicapped/premature/
with a hole in the heart/HIV positive? Whom would you blame?
naturally yourself, as you took the decesion to refuse the girl that God offered.

Careful. God sees and hears your every thought.

A fertility doctor told me that female sperm live longer but swim slower, male sperm are opposite, so if you have sex a day or two before you ovulate you are more apt to have a girl, and if you have sex the day after you ovulate you are more apt to have a boy. I don't know how accurate this is because I didn't care one way or the other. Good luck and I hope that whatever you have it is healthy.

You can't choose the gender of your child. That is morally questionable.. Why does it matter to you so much? You can find out whether it is a boy or girl with an ultrasound AFTER conception, but at that point you can't change it.

Since you want a girl, i will tell you a trick. This comes from swar yoga, a science of manipulating the breath through alternate nostrils. The theory behind this you will be able to read on two articles posted by Jagannath Chaterjee on yahoo group ayurvedaonline:

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ayurvedaonline/messages/6902

Now two hours before union, if your husband sleeps on his right side and you on left side, the proper swar (nadi) will be working for both of you. Two hours is the time needed for nadi to stabilize. Now have union.
The theory of this is given by Swami Shivananda, a great yogi who founded Devine Life Society, Rishikesh, India. He has written a book titled "manovanchhit santati" which translated reads: "progency as per your choosing"

Best wishes for your future daughter.

I remember seeing a climber saying that he had all girls and that all the other climbers he knew had girls too. There was talk that very high altitudes make girl semen more likely. It could be crap. Maybe send your husband on lots of flights before conception! Or not if you want a boy!

The only way would be to take your husband's sperm to a specialist who can separate the Y and X sperm. And no one does this! Otherwise there is NO WAY to guarantee it and anyone who claims they can do this is wrong!
