I work for a University. We have tuition waivers and tuition remission for part of our benefits package. We get 100% waivers and remission. I just don't know what tuition remission means. Someone please help!

100% tuition remission means that if you attend university as a full-time student, you will not have to pay any tuition costs.

How is this different from a tuition waiver? In your case, there is no difference, since you have 100% remission.

At some other universities, the remission rate can vary, sometimes increasing with length of service, and sometimes even beginning as low as 10% remission.

Bottom line: waiver means 100% remission, whereas remission rates can vary.
