On television and everywhere, the idea is that beautiful is white and blonde. Whats up with that?

We live in two different worlds and it is virtually impossible at times to find that common ground. As much as we share in life's experiences, we also are different. I'm not sure we'll ever be together as a nation or worldwide community.

You should have said SOME people not just people. Many think that dark skin is attractive, many don't. It's just plain personel preference.
On the other hand you probably think white and blond are unattractive.
So far as television is concerned, it has to cater to the majority. Even at that, blacks are shown way beyond their proportion of the population.
Some people will complain if you gave them the world.

I see a the media portray a lot of beautiful black people. It is just as silly to say "black is beautiful" as it is to say "white is beautiful". There are both beautiful and ugly people of every race and ethnicity. Of course ideally it doesn't really matter what someone looks like if you consider what sort of person they are on the inside.

I dont know where you bought your television from.
MY TV just show different women, some black, some blond and from other colours but i have never heard that blond is beautiful and black is ugly.

There are lots of beautiful black women just as there are beautiful white, Asian, Indian, etc. I don't think the color makes any difference. Did you ever watch "Sisters" on TV...lots of pretty black women on that show.

I think there is beauty in both. But then I know there is ugly in both too.
I think some people think that black is not beautiful because of stereotypes, or because they were raised not to like people different than themselves.
I know people who don't like Asian people because of the shape of their eyes. Asian people have really beautiful hair. Some are beautiful, some not so beautiful. There are no absolutes.

I think black is beautiful and sexy that is why I got with my husband in the first place...Dont worry about the T.V. and everything...me being white I can honestly tell you the blonde thing is over rated...

I have no idea. I suppose its that old standard and ideals of beauty. But when you think about it, many of the things white people consider beautiful are from people of color. How many white women do you know who tan? I know tons, many even tan to the point of becoming darker than me.

I think there are many beautiful black women out there. I know what you mean about society, but there's not a lot you can do to change that.

I dont know, I have no idea. People only think one way, they have no real intelligence, they have no real ability to think outside of the box, to realize that there are many beautiful and different cultures in the world, that deserve their fair share of show.
