Now, now. They're not stupid, even if they act like they are. They're just over-emotional and have made their political beliefs into their religious beliefs.

And their litergy tell them that 'Bush is dumb' and 'Bush is evil' and 'Bush is lying'. And they then get angry because they cannot reconcile reality to their political religion, and they collectively do the Howard Dean scream - Aaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrggggggghhhhhh.

And because it is their religion, when you dispute them, you are attacking their faith, which automatically makes you evil and wrong. No logic or facts required.

There just aren't enough deprogrammers to help them all.

I apologize in advanced for speaking the truth, but it has to be said. Just to make a blanket statement like that is to insult those few republicans that I respect, because you are just throwing dirt on their names. People like you, and presidents like you, are the reason the name repug was made. It's not the republicans that are the problem, it's the ones that consider themselves the face of the republican party and in that position, leave the name spoiled. If you remember, Dwight Eisenhower, a republican president, is the reason that all of Korea isn't communist. I respect him, because of what he did, not his party. At the same time, I disagree greatly with the policies of Woodrow Wilson, a democratic president. Therefore, to make a political statement like that, based on party and not on person, is derogatory and the sheer definition of speaking without thinking.

They have oposing viewpoints but they are human like you and i and they are exercising there right to choose what to believe just like republicans do.

You have to believe that gender roles are artificial but being gay is natural.

You have to believe that businesses create oppression and governments create prosperity.

You have to believe that hunters don't care about nature but pasty, fey activists who've never been outside Seattle do.

You have to believe that self-esteem is more important than actually doing something to earn it.

You have to believe there was no art before federal funding.

You have to believe the military, not corrupt politicians, start wars.

You have to believe the free market that gives us 500+ channels can't deliver the quality that PBS does.

You have to believe the NRA is bad, because they stand up for certain parts of the Constitution, while the ACLU is good, because they stand up for certain parts of the Constitution.

You have to believe that taxes are too low but ATM fees are too high

You have to believe you can support the troops while calling them killers and mocking them.

You have to believe that Harriet Tubman, Cesar Chavez and Gloria Steinem are more important to American history than Thomas Jefferson, General Robert E. Lee or Thomas Edison.

You have to believe that standardized tests are racist, but racial quotas and set-asides aren't.

You have to believe second-hand smoke is more dangerous than HIV.

You have to believe Hillary Clinton is really a lady and Rosie O'Donnell is not really a man who is jealous of Tom Selleck.

You have to believe conservatives are racists but that black people couldn't make it without your help.

You have to believe that the only reason socialism hasn't worked anywhere it's been tried is because the right people haven't been in charge.
