In this time and in the last 300 years people have made a culture of hate against gays and althoug it is getting better people don't seem to understand that homos have been around forever it is not something new. The ancient greeks an romans watched 2 naked men wrestle and had lovers of the same sex frequently but that all gets left out. Sometimes it is easier to think about things being one way. what do you think?

Cultures develop rules, regulations, "commandments from god" (that they made up), and social norms in order to help their society grow and guard it against outsiders and change. Biologically, our "reason for being" has always been to produce offspring and continue our species. Cultures have taken that biological imperative and added the need to produce offspring raised in that culture in order to continue the "group," and their rules about right and wrong promote that. Since homosexuality doesn't produce offspring that make the group larger or stronger, cultures have tried to discourage it (some more vehemently than other) as long as humans have gathered in groups. That's why it's "demonized." That the oldest cultures with written records mention homosexuality show that it's always been around, as long as there have been humans.

As we've evolved physically, intellectually, and as societies many have realized that there's no harm in homosexual relations. While such relations may not produce offspring to increase the strength of the group, they don't do any damage either...and so they have become more tolerated in many cultures. Unfortunately, some people are still rooted in cultural values from thousands of years ago, and can't/won't adapt themselves to a more intellectual point of view. They still believe the old cultural rules, that god will send them to hell if they accept/tolerate things that are prohibited in their rules. How sad that they can't evolve along with the rest of us...but evolution works its way, and eventually those that don't evolve will die out and there won't be any of them left.

People tend to forget about Sodom & Gomorrah and the reason for its destruction. Homosexuality was a big reason for that. Ancient Greeks were not part of the bible in the sense you speak when trying to defend homosexuality. The Roman empire was seen as being corrupted with such banal acts, and helped lead to its demise. There are more references in religion against the practice, and not just Christianity, but Islam, and others as well.
It defys human nature to practice as such.

misinterpretation of the bible, and some people just have to hate somebody else.

For people saying that the Bible says that homosexuality is wrong:

1. Do you support slavery? the bible does.

2. Do you support killing people for growing two different crops side by side? the bible says it's okay.

3. Do you support the killing of witches? the bible does.

4. Do you support the killing of unruly children? the bible does.

5. Do you support genocide? Your god sure is a big fan of it.

The bible and other religious texts say that it is wrong. In fact Sadam and Gamorrah (sp?) were destroyed as a result. Does that mean people should persecute Homesexuals, absolutely NOT. Does that mean people have to accept and recognize their lifestyle.

Because it isn't natural. If it were meant to be then homosexuals could reproduce. I've heard the "Yea, but animals do it!" argument before. Animals also lick their own a$$ and eat their young...

because it's different, and people don't understand it. It's really fear that drives the hatred and demonization of homosexuality. Just like any form of racism.
