Yes, its supposed to be because her music is so sharp and clear that it just wrecks the room. What I really want to know is why he is drinking a bottle of Pepsi "inside" a restaurant.

While the temptation to say, "There is no explanation for Mariah Carey" is strong, I will avoid saying that and provide you with an explanation.
Mariah Carey is known for her astonishing vocal range- several octaves. You're no doubt familiar with her super high high note capablilty? High frequencies are known to shatter things such as glass.
The commercial plays on this. Her voice is "so high and powerful" that it destroys the building, even when played through a phone.
It also plays on the fact that popular artists such as Ms. Carey are available as ring tones.

Mariah Rocks but the commercial needed writers for sure. I think its awesome she's promoting Pepsi though.

The energy pouring forth from the guys cell phone reached dangerous levels and can cause structural damage. So you had best not use her ring tone.

Its suppose to be very clear as if she is there. I like the song. Its trying to catch peoples attention so that they will think about buying that ring tone.
