As far as research shows the egyptians created slavery and yet black people complain about the time spent as slaves in this country. Egypt is in africa and the american slaves were bought from their own people. So why don't they talk about that? They are free here now. And in africa with every coup more people die. Not to mention the starvation or disease so who is worse the people who bought them as slaves and later set them free or their own people who enslaved them in the first place?

Its as old as known history. The earliest civilations practiced it back even in Mesopotamia (which is older than Egypt). It was not created by the "white devil" that you hear about today.

I do wonder how many blacks in America would be willing to go back in time and stop the importation of their ancestors...Hmmm, Africa has aids, drought, pestilence, civil wars, ethnic genocide, and no economy. America sounds pretty good after all!

Not to open a can of worms (maybe I am) but slavery was actually permitted under the Old Testament law, with restrictions, of course. The master had to treat his slave well and after seven years a slave had the option of going free or "being bound" to his master forever. I heard a comment on it that a well-cared for slave was often better off than a dirt poor free man (who had no land, family, etc).

Just a thought!

Slavery has been around since humans. It is human nature to try and be better than others and also to have others do your work.

Black Americans don't discuss other forms of slavery (against Jews and whites no less) because it diminishes their claims in today's society. If we all recognize that other groups have flourished after being free, then blacks will be held to the same standard. And God forbid we do such a crazy thing!!

OMG I can't believe that you are trying to justify America's or anyone else for that matters use of slavery. And it was not just a matter of setting them free. How many slaves where hunted down and killed after they were set free because of so called 'pride'
Crawl back in your little box of ignorance or better yet, go to your local library and learn something.

Yeah, slavery was good for blacks.

In case you couldn't figure it out, I'm being sarcastic. It's amazing people can be so proud of their ignorance.

The Egyptians didn't create slavery. Slavery is as old as civilization which is far older than the Egyptian Empire.

The Africans and African Americans don't want to blame their own people. I get chastised by African Americans because I'm white and therefor my ancestors must have owned slaves (which they didn't, I'm 4th generation American). Almost every race has been enslaved at one point or another.

hmmm wish i could look into your heart and see if this is truly a quest for knowledge or just and attempt to make some people jump.but i don't feel most wish to discuss this on and intellectual level but it is the problem most were not and never have been slaves .most have not or never been slave owners but yet some want to blame others for their problems and short comings.my family migrated here in 1935 to get away from Hitler so it does not concern me or mine lol.but Hitler and Stalin kill most of my family but i don't consider Germany or Russia as being responsible for what some of their people did to me and mine
